General Terms and Conditions January 2021
Estimations and payments:
Given that each project is a fully bespoke order, we will no longer offer any fixed 'quotations' on any work requested as our long experience has shown each project to vary too widely to make an accurate assessment of the actual hours spent on that project, so from this time, all enquires will now be only estimated for in order to be fair to both the client and to us as a viable business. However, If a quotation is required, then a prototype will have to be made first to asses the actual workload involved for a production run of that item. As with the old system of quotations, these estimations will be based on material/consumable costs for that project and a labour rate based on the timescale of the project.
Labour rates will either be charged per hour, per week or per month, depending on the size and complexity/duration of the project build. That rate is a set price based on wages cost, workshop running cost, taxes, insurance and material/consuables costing for that actual project.
To confirm any booking based on any estimation, a non refundable 10% of that estimation is required to book your time slot in the queue of any current work being done. This is now without exception as we have had issues in the past with persons pulling out of work at the last moment leaving us with large gaps to fill in our work schedule.
40% of the estimated labour charges and material/consumables is to be paid at the time of the project start. The remaining actual labour charges and all remaining material/consumable costs are to be paid on delivery/collection. With larger, time intensive projects, this system of payment may be altered at our discretion to help with cash flow management.
Handing over of any completed project to the client, will only be done once the full amount due on the build has been paid in full, without exception.
All payments can be made by via Bank Transfer or PayPal for convenience to the client (full charges to be paid by the client). Bank details will be confirmed if required nearer the time on agreement of the estimation.
The full cost of shipping of any completed project from my workshop will be that solely of the client and this includes delivery of the completed project or equipment and/or parts.
With the starting any project mutually agreed on, the client is accepting and agreeing to our estimation and the terms and conditions outlined above, and in the estimation without exception.
All pricing and payments are to be made in Euros.
Any and all past quotations and current estimations are now only valid for 6 months from time of that document. Any requests for work to be started after that time, will have to be estimated for again under the current labour and materials/consumable cost prices.
Build Projects and/or Static/prototype models::
All major build projects will be estimated for at a project price based on our experience of that type where applicable. We will only undertake repair work and estimations for same, if the client can provide detailed pictures of the repairs needed. All this work will be charged at an hourly rate and usually incurs a minimum charge based on complexity of repair involved.
CAD design:
CAD design work undertaken (2D or 3D) will be charged at a set hourly rate for all work done. All files of that work paid for will remain the sole property of the client after the job is done. All payments for that work can be made by by Bank Transfer or PayPal (charges to be paid by the client). Bank details will be confirmed if required nearer the time on agreement.
CNC milling work :
CNC milling work with be charged at a set hourly rate for all work done and material costs. All drawing conversions from STL or other 3D supplied drawings for use on my mill will be charged for at an hourly rate. Alll materials and consumables (mills/bits etc) will be charged for at the purchase rate as used in the project. All payments for that work can be made by by Bank Transfer or PayPal (charges to be paid by the client). Bank details will be confirmed if required nearer the time on agreement.
Laser Cutting:
Laser Cutting with be charged at a set hourly rate for all work done and material costs. All drawing conversions from PDF’s or napkin drawings including DXF clean ups required in order to get parts ready to be nested to be sent to the laser cutter will be charged for so having good drawings in DXF format will make our charges less to you the client. All payments for that work can be made by by Bank Transfer or PayPal (charges to be paid by the client). Bank details will be confirmed if required nearer the time on agreement.
Spray Painting:
Spray Painting work with be charged at a set hourly rate for all work done. This price excludes materials in that rate, but all material charges will be added for client approval prior to any work done. All payments for that work can be made by by Bank Transfer or PayPal (charges to be paid by the client). Bank details will be confirmed if required nearer the time on agreement.
Flying R/C Aircraft Projects:
In relation to flying model projects, we can not guarantee that any flying R/C model will be successful in the air as we do not do any test flying of any finished model unless that test flying is instructed to by prior agreement with the client. All aspects of any model build, construction, fit out, set-up, CofG and non destructive stress testing will be done to a high personal standard before leaving our workshop before handing over to the client. Any damage or total crash failure during the initial first flight or indeed subsequent flights of the completed flying model are solely the full responsibility of the owner of the model and can not be blamed partly or in full, due to our work during the build. We have to assume that the pilot of the aircraft is competent and able to fly the type of model we have built and will do so, in the correct manner and is aware of all inherent risks involved with test flying new aircraft. Again, the success or failure of those flights have nothing to do with us as the builder/s of the model.
